The Process.

We pride ourselves on designing, handcrafting, and installing the highest quality bespoke furniture and storage solutions in Essex.

The first step of your journey is to reach out to us – we’d love to hear about your project ideas and find out if we can help you. This allows us to understand your wants and needs, and to answer any of your questions you may have. We’ll also take this opportunity to make measurements and to organise a design consultation.

We will get to work on the design as per your specifications. If you’ve opted to use our design & build package, you’ll receive high quality technical plans that allow you to visualise every aspect of your build. We will seek your feedback and input for any modifications, fine tuning all the details.

This is where the magic happens! We’ll procure the best quality materials and handcraft your build in our specialised workshop.

Near the final stages of manufacturing, we’ll be in touch to organise a suitable date to install your bespoke furniture! We’ll send you a quick checklist in advance to make sure the installation process is completely seamless, and that any disruption is minimised.

As part of our pride in providing excellent customer service, we will check in post-installation to ensure the final product has met your expectations and that you are satisfied!

Sebastian Ward-Smith
Sebastian Ward-Smith Director
Like Father, like son. Seb started out as a passionate woodworking enthusiast from the age of 5 working in his Dad’s workshop. Seb is City & Guilds qualified Engineer and had a successful career working for the Ministry of Defence with a fine eye for precision and meticulous when it comes to the small details. After identifying a demand for creative storage solutions, it was time to change direction. Seb created Ward-Smith Interiors Ltd to channel his creativity and passion for woodworking. Seb is incredibly dedicated to self-improvement and developing his craft.
Matthew Wynn
Matthew WynnLead Joiner
Matt is a dedicated traditional carpenter with over 30 years’ experience within the woodworking industry. Having completed his Advanced Carpentry and Joinery apprenticeship in 1991, Matt has a wealth of experience in all aspects of carpentry and joinery. Matt is also a qualified Locksmith, which goes hand-in-hand with joinery and fitting bespoke doors. Thanks to Matt’s incredible experience, we are equipped to take on a huge variety of carpentry jobs. Fun fact: One of Matt’s favourite things to do is hoovering! So rest assured, your house will be left spotless!

Willow Ward-SmithWellness and Life-Balance Director
Willow is the true pillar of Ward-Smith Interiors, ensuring Seb and Matt are always in a great mood and ready to work. She takes her responsibility incredibly seriously and is a great listener. Off-duty, she can usually be found sleeping all day or basking in the sunlight.

We have efficiently streamlined our process to ensure minimal disruption to your home and daily routine. All of our fitted furniture is hand-crafted in our purpose-built workshop. Once it is ready, it will be carefully transported to your home for installation. This method reduces installation time to an average of a day or two.
